White Oak Bark (Quercus alba) Astringent, used for diarrhea, hemorrhage, leukorrhea, bleeding and ulcerated gums. Topically for sores, hemorrhoids. Strengthens capillaries.

White Willow Bark (Salix alba) Astringent, contains salicin, reduces inflammation. Used for headache, neuralgia, fevers, hayfever, arthritis and rheumatism.

Wild Cherry Bark (Prunus virg.) Expectorant, antitussive, astringent, sedative, digestive bitter. Used for irritating coughs, bronchitis and asthma.

Wild Indigo Root (Baptisia tinctoria) Lymph cleanser; for local infection such as sore throat, laryngitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, mouth ulcers, gingivitis, and pyorrhea. Best used in small amounts formulas. Caution: Large doses may be toxic

Wild Lettuce (Lactuca serriola) Sedative; muscle relaxant, calms restlessness and anxiety, subdues irritating coughs.

Wild Yam Root (Dioscorea villosa) Antispasmodic; carminative; anti-inflammatory; hepatic; cholagogue; diaphoretic. Used for intestinal colic, diverticulitis, painful menses, ovarian and uterine pain, arthritis, flatulence.

Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) Reduces fever, inhibits roundworm and pinworm infestation when used consistently for a week or two. Aids uterine circulation.
